Reflecting on His Faithfulness

17 May 2023

We applied to Asia Pacific Christian (APCM) in 1997 and were sent out to Papua New Guinea by Pioneers in 1998. We met each other through APCM in 1986 while serving short-term at Rumginae Hospital (Western Province, PNG). At the time of writing this article, we are exploring ministry opportunities in Moree (NSW).

We are grateful to God for: His grace to us in bringing us into His kingdom, and the example of so many before us in sharing the gospel with us and with others. The opportunity to serve in PNG in the 1980s with APCM, and for us to meet each other and subsequently get married. The opportunity to get further training at Bible College and in nursing (Lucy) before returning to PNG. The blessing of spending almost ten years in PNG with our four children, upheld by the prayers of so many. The joy of teaching God’s Word to Papua New Guineans in a rural setting, and for God’s unfailing provision over the decades. The vision and leadership of so many within APCM and Pioneers over the years, enabling us to go to where we believed God called us.

We are expectant for: the Lord’s return, and how this should spur us on to make every conversation and action count for His kingdom. The opportunity to explore a possible new avenue of service after 15 years in the suburbs while our children completed their studies. The Lord to reveal to us at the right time what He has in store for us, and that He will equip us for that ministry.

In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Phil 1:4-6
