Taking up our cross
“The way of the cross means sacrifice. We’re called to this fellowship deep. To share in our Lord’s toil and suffering. To seek his wandering sheep”
Florence Young, founder of South Sea Evangelical Mission, wrote these words when sharing the love of Jesus with Solomon Islanders in 1904. The “sacrifice” and task is still before us: taking the gospel to unreached and unengaged peoples of the world.
Please pray: Our gracious, merciful God, we pray that many will be willing to “take up their cross” and follow Jesus. Sharing the words of eternal life, making disciples, baptising and teaching new disciples how to obey all that Jesus has commanded. Through their sacrifice, may countless numbers from every nation, tribe and people group come know Jesus as Lord.
