Five Reasons to Pray for Unreached Peoples of the World

#1. The Privilege of Obedience

God’s word commands us to pray for all people—that includes the unreached and unengaged (1 Thess 5:17; 1 Tim 2:1–4). When Jesus commanded His followers to “make disciples of all nations” in Matthew 28:19, He was referring to “ethne,” from which we get the English word “ethnic.”

Prayer is necessary when reaching all ethne in places where there are few or no churches because it is not easy for people to turn from faith in religion to faith in Jesus Christ. We need to ask, “Lord, how do I reach them?” The answer starts with obedience in prayer.
