Being a Pioneer isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about being willing to go—trusting God into places where few have gone before.
At Pioneers Australia, we believe mission starts with ordinary people saying yes to an extraordinary God. It’s about crossing cultures, crossing streets, sometimes crossing oceans, to live and share the hope we’ve found in Jesus.
It’s tough work. There are no shortcuts. But it’s also full of moments where God shows up, sometimes in ways we’d never expect. Being a Pioneer means stepping out, digging deep, and trusting that when we plant seeds of the gospel, God brings the growth.

Church Endorsement
Church endorsement grounds a missionary’s call in community, providing spiritual covering, accountability, and discernment. It ensures you are not sent alone, but supported as part of the Body of Christ.

Complete our comprehensive application to help us understand your calling, your readiness, and how we can best walk alongside you.
STEP 4
Health Assessments
Health assessments help ensure you are physically, emotionally, and mentally prepared for the challenges of cross-cultural service. They safeguard both you and your team, promoting long-term sustainability and well-being on the field.
STEP 5
Orientation Week
Spend time with others who are exploring mission, as you’re introduced to the heart of Pioneers - our core values, our vision, and what it means to take the gospel to those who have never heard.
STEP 6
Personalised Training
Develop a tailored preparation plan to equip you for the unique challenges of cross-cultural ministry, shaped around your experience and context.
STEP 7
Exploratory Trip
Consider a survey trip to gain firsthand experience of life and ministry in a different culture, helping you to connect with teams on the field and clarify your next steps.
STEP 8
Partnership Development
Build a network of supporters who will journey with you through prayer, giving, and encouragement - sharing in the work God is doing.
STEP 9
Church Commissioning
Be sent out with the prayerful support and blessing of your church community. As the final step before heading to the field, commissioning affirms that you go not alone but as a representative of your local church.

Where Will You Fit in His Story?
Whether it's planting churches, discipling new believers, or simply living life among those who have never heard, there is a place for you. Mission is not a one-size-fits-all calling. God uses all kinds of people with different gifts, skills, and backgrounds to make Himself known.
Some serve in bustling cities, others in remote outback communities. Some focus on healthcare, education, or business as mission. Others bring the Gospel through hospitality, language learning, or simply being present in the lives of those who have yet to hear of Jesus.
