Prayer Guidelines for Global Missions and Unreached People Groups

At Pioneers Australia, prayer is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that prayer is a powerful and essential part of God’s work in bringing the gospel to all nations, particularly to those who have never heard of Jesus. Below you will find numerous resources and prayer points to help you intercede on behalf of the unreached and those who have been called to reach them.

Pray With Us

These prayer points serve as a guide to inspire and focus your intercession. Together, as we pray, give, and go, we can trust that God is working. Each prayer point is founded on Scripture, helping us pray with confidence that God hears and answers when we align with His purposes.

  • That the gospel will be preached across the entire world as a witness to every nation, especially among those who have yet to hear the name of Jesus (Matthew 24:14).
  • For the Word of God to spread rapidly and transform lives in regions and cultures where there is little or no access to the gospel (2 Thessalonians 3:1).
  • For the earth to be filled with the knowledge of God’s glory, covering even the most remote and isolated communities (Habakkuk 2:14).
  • That every tribe, language, and culture without a witness to the gospel would soon hear the good news of salvation (Revelation 5:9).
  • For God to raise up messengers to go into the 7,000+ unreached people groups, where the gospel has not yet been proclaimed.

  • That God’s name will be honoured, His kingdom come, and His will be done across every culture, people group, and language (Matthew 6:9-10).
  • For the hearts of unreached people to be open to hearing the gospel and turning to the Lord (Psalm 22:27).
  • That God will call out people from every tribe and nation for His own glory, purifying and transforming their hearts through His Spirit (Ezekiel 36:22-27).
  • For worship to rise to God from every corner of the earth, from the rising to the setting of the sun, as all people acknowledge Him as Lord (Malachi 1:11).
  • For the vision of Revelation 7:9-10 to become a reality, where a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and tongue will worship God and the Lamb.

  • That the Australian Church, and the global body of Christ, will awaken to the reality of the billions who live without access to the gospel, be moved with compassion, and respond to the Great Commission (Matthew 9:37-38).
  • For an unprecedented sending of workers into unreached areas, bringing the message of Jesus to the lost (Matthew 9:38).
  • For faithful and sacrificial support of missionaries working in difficult and remote locations, providing them with the resources and encouragement they need (3 John 1:5-8).
  • For the Church to take bold steps in addressing the spiritual needs of unreached people groups, with innovative strategies and unwavering commitment.

  • For missionaries to grow in their relationship with God, drawing strength from His Word and His presence as they minister in challenging and isolated environments (Psalm 1:1-3; 2 Corinthians 3:18).
  • That they will be filled with the Holy Spirit, displaying His fruit and relying on His power to bring the gospel to those who have never heard it (Galatians 5:22-23; Acts 1:8).
  • For endurance and hope as they face cultural, linguistic, and spiritual barriers in their ministry (Romans 12:12; Isaiah 30:15).
  • For protection from physical harm and spiritual attack as they serve in hostile or remote regions (2 Thessalonians 3:3; Ephesians 6:12).
  • For clarity and boldness in sharing the gospel, particularly among people who may resist or misunderstand the message (Colossians 4:3-4; Ephesians 6:19).
  • For missionaries to demonstrate the love of Christ through their actions, opening doors to share the message of salvation (Matthew 5:14-16).
  • That they will see fruit from their labour as individuals and families come to faith, and new believers are discipled and multiplied (John 15:7-8, 16).
  • For their families to be a source of strength and support, and for their children to grow in faith and understanding of their unique calling (Ephesians 5:22-6:4).

  • For barriers such as language, cultural misunderstandings, and government restrictions to be overcome, so the gospel can take root in unreached communities.
  • That God will prepare the hearts of unreached people to receive the message of Jesus, giving them dreams, visions, and divine encounters that lead to faith.
  • For creative and sustainable strategies to reach people in regions where traditional mission efforts are not possible.
  • For Bible translation efforts to accelerate so that all people can have access to God’s Word in their heart language.
  • For indigenous believers among unreached people groups to rise up as leaders, spreading the gospel within their communities.
