This is a Tax Deductible OARF project Transforming communities through training, mentoring, and counselling Better Learning Brighter Lives brings hope and peace to communities across Indonesia through community programs that embrace education, counselling, micro-financing, and home-based business activities. What began in 2014 as a simple call to help teachers foster peace, harmony and critical thinking in their classrooms has, a decade on, grown into programs impacting entire communities. Today, our initiatives include training, counselling and mentoring programs to equip teachers, parents, and others in the community with skills and strategies to bring a sense of hope, peace, and empowerment that will flow onto students, families, and their community. Our training centre is a hub for kids’ clubs and a meeting place for teens and young adults. And the micro-financing support that began during covid has grown into regular meetings that help people with small, home-based businesses (e.g. making soap, tea, or crackers) to continue developing their skills and understanding of good and peaceful businesses and families. Helping families create sustainable livelihoods. Impact: Better Learning Brighter Lives is transforming a small, impoverished community in Java, and other school communities throughout Indonesia to live their best lives with the community and resources they have.
